Atyaf has announced the launch of Edgion Shield, a managed edge-security service for websites and digital publishing platforms that the company positions as the first of its kind in the region. The service is designed to evaluate malicious traffic before it reaches the origin server and to improve operational visibility into web traffic.
Edgion Shield brings together a web application firewall (WAF), DNS management, TLS configuration, and continuous monitoring in a single managed service. This allows protection policies, event monitoring, and operational tuning to be handled through one coordinated process.
According to Atyaf, the service was tested under real operating conditions across several countries in the Middle East and blocked multiple attack attempts targeting digital and media websites. The company says this direct operating experience helped refine protection policies, monitoring mechanisms, and response workflows before the formal launch.
Protection before the origin
The service operates as an edge layer that inspects incoming web requests before forwarding them to origin infrastructure. WAF rules help filter unwanted requests, while DNS and TLS components support domain routing and encrypted connections.
Continuous monitoring gives operations teams visibility into traffic behavior and security events, helping them review and tune policies for each site’s needs.

Onboarding starts with a review of the domains and origin systems to be protected, followed by DNS, TLS, and WAF policy configuration for the operating context. The ongoing service combines monitoring, policy reviews, and operational support.
